Kent Cigarettes

Kent cigarettes are considered as soft and easy cigarettes to smoke.

Kent is a brand of discount cigarettes introduced by P. Lorillard Company, in 1952. Kent cigarettes were named after Herbert Kent, a former executive at Lorillard Tobacco Company.

The first version of the Kent cigarettes filter was used crocidolite, a form of asbestos, which was considered to be a cause of the cancer. Later Lorillard Company introduced a "New Kent" with a new Micronite filter, this time without asbestos.

It was demonstrated that the Micronite filter can remove seven times more tar and nicotine than any other cigarette. This material, Micronite, which is used in Kent cigarettes filter, was used also during the war in gas masks in order to remove radioactive particles from the air. After this important changes the sale of Kent cigarettes have increased greatly.

The special Kent filter that is considered to be "safer" for smokers changed the cigarette taste too. Now Kent cigarettes have a more pleasant taste with a light flavor.
